Shonda Rhimes has opened the doors to her splendid Bridgerton-inspired home in .
Rhimes, 52, gave a tour of her beautifully arranged apartment, designed by famed interior designer Michael S. Smith, where she revealed the aesthetic had been influenced by her steamy series.
‘I had been immersed in the romanticism of for a while, so that had to influence some of the things that I had been thinking about,’ she told AD.

Indeed, the living room looked as though it could have served as the set of the romance show, from the floral blue leopard wallpaper to the regal gold touches strewn about the room.
The stunning room harkened to the series with majestic yellow curtains, chandelier, pottery and even a citrus tree placed by her desk.
A number of tapered candles also added another Bridgerton inspired touch.

‘This is my favorite place to be whenever I’m in New York City,’ Shonda explained in the video tour. ‘It really is like one of the comfiest, coziest places in the world.’
Rhimes was also influenced by the late director Mike Nichols in her design.
Rhimes was invited to lunch by Nichols following the success of Grey’s Anatomy and recalled the elegance of the apartment he shared with his wife Diane Sawyer.
‘I didn’t know him at all,’ Rhimes told AD. ‘Mike was the kindest soul—just to offer friendship, such kindness, and mentorship was really lovely. So I went to his and Diane Sawyer’s apartment, and it was breathtaking—this beautiful special place, so elegantly done with extraordinary terraces, and this quality of light. And I remember thinking, God, one day I’d love to live like this.’
